Thoughts, reflections and analysis...

AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

This year long, senior design course has provided me with an opportunity to summarize my five years in the Architectural Engineering program. Studying and analyzing the Walt Disney Family Museum has allowed me to research existing engineering systems while providing my own design solutions to areas in the building that may need further analysis. I enjoyed working on a National Historic Landmark Building because I would like to further my education on these types of projects through Urban Design and Redevelopment on a graduate level. While this project was the biggest challenge during my Penn State education, it has prepared me to use my engineering degree after graduation in application type design position.

CPEP and Discussion Board Reflection

While maintaining a CPEP site was sometimes time consuming and technologically challenging, the e-Studio site allows each student to properly display their work for others to view. This portfolio will allow us to direction others to view our work in many years to come. The Discussion Board was helpful in answering questions and gaining advice on how to handle unclear engineering systems or design ideas.

ABET Outcome Survey

The following survey asks each student to provide feedback to the AE 481W/482 design class. I feel the program has provided me with a solid engineering background and met every expectation.
